Conspiracy Corner: Alchemy and demons in crop circles
Source : Lynn Hayes  blog.beliefnet.com:80/astrologicalmusings/2009/06/conspiracy-corner-alchemy-and.html

Molly Hall at About Astrology posted a link to Linda Moulton Howe’s excellent crop circle site where she compares the latest crop circle to a sigil used by the ancient alchemists. Linda writes:

Sigils are codes created for a specific magical purpose. The pattern is the code derived from a number and/or letter grid known only to those who produce sigils from the known grid. A sigil is usually made up of a complex combination of several specific symbols or geometric figures each with a specific meaning or intent. The term sigil derives from the Latin sigillum meaning “seal,” though it may also be related to the Hebrew segulah meaning “word, action or item of spiritual effect.”

There is sigil magic in which symbols and signs are used as tools of magicians and alchemists. In medieval ceremonial magic, sigils represented various angels and demons that the magician can summon. The magical training books called the Grimoires often listed pages of angel and demon sigils. A particularly well-known list is in the Lesser Key of Solomon, in which the sigils of the 72 princes of the hierarchy of hell are given for the magician’s use, including the demon Aim. Such sigils were

considered to be the equivalent of the true name of the spirit, and thus granted the magician a measure of control over the entities being called.

For example:Demon sigil

From the Lesser Key of Solomon is this Sigil which is evidently “for the demon, Aim (aka Aym or Haborym), ho is a Great Duke of Hell ruling over twenty-six legions f demons and using fire to destroy. Aim is depicted as humanoid ith three heads: one a serpent; the second a man with two stars on the forehead; and the third a cat.”

Linda quotes a treatise by the late Mario Pazzaglini, Ph.D.on the use of sigils in alchemy.  Pazzaglini had an interesting background that bridged the world of the occult, particularly Enochian magic, and UFO contact.  These connections have been made by many in the world of speculative esoteric research, and also by Christian conspiracy researchers.

Compare this to the most recent crop circle:crop-circle2

This adds another interesting layer to speculation around crop circles.  If they are being beamed by military satellite for the purposes of mind control as some speculate, and this mind control involves the practice of alchemy and ceremonial magic, then who is in control?

And now, with the release of the film version of Dan Brown’s novel Angels and Demons, this whole idea will flood the consciousness of the masses.

And to what end?  The mind simply boggles.

Press Release: Unique Paranormal Organization That Specializes In Hostile Hauntings

Written By: OPET

Posted: 5/24/2009

All hauntings have the potential to become dangerous. When this does happen, who do people call? Too bad there isn’t a specialized paranormal intercession group out there, right? Well, there is. The Omega Paranormal Eliminations Team’s (OPET) objective is to help those with problem hauntings to understand the nature of their haunting and offer solutions or recommendations on how to deal with or resolve it. The staff of OPET includes shamans that perform the traditional rite of spirit removals (exorcisms), house clearings, and spirit transitions (assisting spirits to move on). They use traditional methods to help people in problem hauntings at no cost.

A traditionally-apprenticed shaman spends years in his apprenticeship to learn about spirits and their ways. This knowledge is beneficial when it comes to interacting with those energies that we investigate. A shaman not only has the gift to see spirit, but is also trained in how to identify many different spiritual attributes, such as what causes a spirit’s energy to be held to a place (for example, the spirit may actually be connected to an object, not necessarily the building it is in). A shaman can interact with entities through the manipulation of spiritual energies.

Spiritual energy has a way of attracting other spiritual energies, malevolent as well as benign. Haunting activity does not always reveal the intentions of an entity. There are different influences involved with spirits. Some may be good-natured, some may be malevolent, and some may disguise themselves to look like something they’re not by manipulating their energy as if they were wearing a mask.

Dreams are important in these cases as well. Through a person’s dreams is often the easiest means for spirit to communicate to the living, and reviewing dreams is a part of our interview process. OPET staff includes a shaman who specializes in dreamwork. The dreams of all persons sleeping at the location during the course of an overnight investigation should be documented, and cooperation in this area of the investigation is appreciated.

OPET was created to assist victims of hostile hauntings by eliminating these dangerous entities from their homes. They also work alongside paranormal investigation groups whose clients request such services.

OPET can be contacted via their website at www.sasws.net/pages/opet/opet_home.html or at www.myspace.com/sasws.

Demon Infection Spread

05/29/2009 · Leave a Comment

Source : http://www.stuff.co.nz/dominion-post/news/wellington/2456494/Demon-infection-spread

One of the accused in the makutu manslaughter trial told police that he too became infected with demons during the process to rid Janet Moses of evil spirits.

The man, whose name is suppressed, told police two days after Ms Moses died that he had helped hold her down but after no more than half an hour he found he was infected too.

In a recorded interview played to jurors in the High Court at Wellington today, he said he drank many cups of water and had water poured in his eyes to cleanse him. He vomited about six times before his eyes became clear and he felt good again so he knew the process had worked.

The jury is hearing his interview with police at the end of the fourth week of the trial where he and a woman – whose name is also suppressed – are charged with cruelty to a 14-year-old girl who was also cleansed at the Wainuiomata flat where Janet Moses died on October 12, 2007.

The Crown says Ms Moses drowned when water was forced into her mouth. Nine people are charged with her manslaughter.

THE ACCUSED

* Nine members of Janet Moses’ extended family are charged with her manslaughter, which the Crown alleges was the result of an attempt to remove a curse – a makutu – or evil spirit.

* The accused are: John Tahana Rawiri, 49, Georgina Aroha Rawiri, 50, Aroha Gwendoline Wharepapa, 48, Hall Jones Wharepapa, 46, Tanginoa Apanui, 42, Angela Rangiaroha Orupe, 46, Gaylene Tangiohorere Kepa, 44, Alfred Hughes Kepa, 48, and Glenys Lynette Wright, 52. All are siblings of Ms Moses’ mother, or their partners.

* Two people, whose names are suppressed, are charged with cruelty to a 14-year-old girl in their care.

The King of Pop, who is due to make his live comeback at London’s O2 Arena in July, allegedly did not want his kids frightened with spirits.

The 50-year-old was also reportedly concerned that the 18th-century Foxbury Manor at Chislehurst, Kent, could not be ‘fixed’, reports News of the World .

The singer had nearly paid the 1-million pound deposit for his eight-month stay when a video made by aides stopped him from sealing the deal, as per reports.

Facing up to nightmares, monsters, demons, and the fragile self

04/24/2009 · Leave a Comment

By Art Jahnke, Art Jahnke can be reached at janhke@bu.edu. This story originally appeared in the spring 2009 issue of Bostonia magazine.

Patrick McNamara knows nightmares. The neurocognitive scientist and School of Medicine associate professor of neurology and psychiatry spent 10 years researching and writing about them. The result, Nightmares: The Science and Solution of Those Frightening Visions During Sleep, was published last year by Praeger. McNamara’s book covers a lot of ground, from cultural interpretations to biology to horror films.

BU Today editors, nervous types themselves, had a few questions for the author, who is also director of the Evolutionary Neurobehavior Laboratory at MED and the Veterans Affairs New England Healthcare System.

BU Today: What makes a nightmare a nightmare?

McNamara: The official criteria define a nightmare as a frightening dream that occurs in REM sleep, causes the dreamer to awaken, and creates emotional distress. Many scientists who study nightmares (me among them) argue that that official criteria need revision. Many nightmares do not cause you to awaken.

Nightmares very often involve supernatural characters that attack or target the dreamer. I mean monsters, creatures, demons, spirits, unusual animals. One interesting aspect of the presence of a supernatural being in a nightmare is that the dreamer cannot read its mind. All we can do is understand that the monster’s intentions are malevolent.

Nightmares also often involve the dreamer, or self. Interestingly, the self responds to the monster with a wide range of feeling, from terror to awe and fascination. The self escapes unscathed only if it refuses to engage the monster. When the self engages, all kinds of ill effects ensue, including, in ancestral cultures, demonic or spirit possession.

You write about the possession theme of nightmares. Why is that particularly disturbing?

There is a danger involved in the encounter with spirit beings; you may not psychically survive. Instead, the malevolent spirit will take up residence in your consciousness and control your actions. You become possessed.

It is an interesting clinical fact that, even today, most cases of involuntary spirit possession across the world occur overnight. The person wakes up possessed. Traditional cultures have developed ways to identify the demon-possessed people. They are usually self-destructive, they have chronic physical pains and physical distress, they are irreverent toward the culture’s religious rituals, they are restless, and they have recurrent nightmares.

We in modern university settings do not realize how widespread spirit possession phenomena are throughout the world and throughout history. It is a universal human experience. For people who encounter a possessed person, it is uncanny, and terrifying if the possessing spirit is demonic.

What time of life are we most likely to have nightmares?

Nightmare frequency is high in childhood, adolescence, and young adulthood. Young girls tend to experience nightmares more frequently than boys. In adults, recurrent nightmares occur in people with so-called thin boundaries, who are especially sensitive to sensory impressions. Creative people, like artists, writers, musicians, and so forth, also report more nightmares. A different form of nightmare, heavily influenced by memory, occurs frequently in people who have experienced trauma.

What about recurrent nightmares? Are they really recurrent, or do we just think they are?

In about 2 percent of the adult population, nightmares occur frequently. They do not recur in the sense that the same scene is replayed night after night, but the individual does experience frequent nightmares. Post-traumatic nightmares, on the other hand, do recur with the same scene, with minor variations, replayed over and over.

If a person feels plagued by nightmares, is there something to do to inhibit their recurrence?

Yes. Scientists have found that various forms of cognitive restructuring of the nightmare’s imagery can reduce the distress. In cognitive restructuring, you take a central image from the nightmare and literally redraw it, on paper or in imagination, so that it is less threatening or frightening. You can also do this with the use of stories. Take the nightmare story and retell it, with less frightening themes and outcome.

What can we learn about ourselves from the details of our nightmares?

The traditional answer is something along the following lines: our dreams and nightmares reflect unconscious conflicts and fears. Examining images and themes of dreams and nightmares can tell us something important about our unconscious fears and conflicts. I doubt this is true.

Instead, nightmares appear to be about the strength of the ego, the “I,” the self. It is always the self that is under attack in a nightmare. It appears that people who suffer frequent nightmares have more fragile egos than the rest of us, but when you look deeper, these people very likely have the strongest egos, or sense of self, on the planet. Nightmare images haunt our awareness for days. Frequent nightmare sufferers cope with this stuff on a regular basis. They are very strong individuals.

How have nightmares influenced culture: visual arts, literature, movies?

The most reliably best-selling novels tend to be horror stories, like those of Stephen King. Visual artists tend to display a profound understanding of nightmares, perhaps because they experience nightmares themselves. You might say that a whole industry has been built on the nightmare.

‘Nun’s ghost tells owner how to renovate house’

04/10/2009 · 1 Comment

Source :  DAVID MACGREGOR,  Port Alfred Bureau , dispatch.co.za

GHOST busters have failed to drive out the souls who drift in and out of an 1820s Settler house in Bathurst. The house was bought on a whim by Johannesburg businesswoman Marilyn Michau in December 2005 – she had not even set foot inside the boarded up St John’s Church rectory at the time she decided to purchase the building.

The building has since been exorcised several times by some of the best ghost busters in South Africa.

“When I brought my son to see the place for the first time, he overheard in the pub about a crazy Joburg woman who had bought the haunted house … he was so frightened, he told me to cancel the sale immediately,” Michau told the Daily Dispatch this week.

Reputedly haunted for the past 140 years by the ghost of a pregnant nun who committed suicide in the house soon after her illicit relationship with a slave or soldier was discovered, the history of the place did not spook Michau off.

An avid ghost buster herself, Michau called in the best Catholic exorcist in South Africa, Father Larry Kaufman , in February 2006 to clear the house of unhappy spirits.

“He arrived with his incense and robes and we prayed up a storm in all the rooms,” Michau said. “Upstairs, a lot of entities presented themselves.

“There were bad smells and winds. When we got to my son’s room there was a smell that would not go away, it just got worse.”

According to Michau, Kaufman explained that the room had once contained the bodies of dead, “legless” soldiers.

“When we renovated the room, we found pentagrams and other satanic emblems made from copper under the wooden floors. I removed them and threw them in the ocean.”

Although Kaufman ridded the house of most of the entities, Michau also called renowned white sangoma Bokka du Toit to help cleanse the house.

“I fell in love with the place … the house chose me – there was no way I was going to just run away.”

Strange events in the house include lights switching on and off, doors being flung open by winds, mystery shadows, chopping sounds from the kitchen, foul odours, bed covers being ripped off and the occasional sighting of the “nun” ghost.

Another unexplained incident occurred when an American artist friend, Nancy Noel, painted her a picture of an angel and posted it to South Africa.

A day after hanging the artwork, a friend arrived at the house and asked why she had a painting of the dead nun on the wall.

“The angel had a rope painted around her neck that was not there when I opened the parcel.

“I phoned Nancy and she said she never painted a rope around the angel’s neck.”

With most of the ghosts now gone, Michau said the nun was the only entity left.

Soon after buying the house, Michau dropped her daughter, Michaela , at a medium’s house in KwaZulu-Natal for a consultation.

“When I went to drop her off the medium came running out and asked if I was coming to see her as she had some messages for me from a nun.

“I was overwhelmed by this bit of news and sat down immediately to hear what my nun had to say.”

According to Michau, the nun had told the medium to “thank me for listening to her and buying the house”.

“She had waited for over 100 years for someone to come along that could love the house as much as she had, and she had chosen me.

“She described the house exactly and asked me to renovate and restore it to its former glory particularly by making the upstairs windows into doors again.”

Michau followed the nun’s instructions “to the letter” and restored the house.

“This is my home, I never want to leave,” she said. “I have grown quite attached to my ghost.” – BY DAVID MACGREGOR,  Port Alfred Bureau,

Video:Has CCTV pictured the ghost of a past Earl of Sefton at Croxteth Hall?

04/07/2009 · 1 Comment

Apr 7 2009 by Marc Waddington, Liverpool Echo

GHOSTLY goings-on at Croxteth Hall are being investigated by city bosses.

They have been left spooked by CCTV footage which appears to have captured an apparition making its way through the grounds.

Experts drafted in to view the footage say they are stumped by the image of the ghoulish figure, which can be seen bathed in a luminous white glow.

They say the short clip could prove to be some of the most important evidence of paranormal sightings ever unearthed.

City bosses investigating the sighting say there is a possibility it could be the ghost of the 7th Earl of Sefton, Hugh William Osbert Molyneux, who lived at the hall until he died, childless, in 1972.

Another contender is the 2nd Earl of Sefton, William Philip Molyneux, a prolific gambler and friend of the Prince Regent.

He laid the foundation stone for Aintree Racecourse, under which he placed a cask of sovereign coins, in 1829.

Local legend has it he stalks the grounds of the hall around Grand National time.

Former Most Haunted ghost hunter and TV presenter Jason Karl has been drafted in to examine the footage.

He said: “This is very intriguing. Video footage of phantoms is very rare and if this stands up to scrutiny it could be a very important piece of spectral evidence for the worldwide community of paranormal enthusiasts.”

Council environment portfolio holder Cllr Berni Turner said she was keeping an open mind about the footage.

She added: “I’m a huge believer in the paranormal and think this footage is really interesting.

“It’s great to think that we may have ghosts walking around these beautiful grounds.”

Generations of the Molyneux family, the Earls of Sefton, lived at Croxteth Hall from the sixteenth century.

It was bequeathed to the City of Liverpool by the 7th and last Earl of Sefton, Hugh William Osbert Molyneux, and his wife, née Josephine Gwynne, who was the last member of the Molyneux family to live at Croxteth and died in 1980.

Officers: Houston dad said he was trying to rid child of ‘demon’

04/06/2009 · Leave a Comment

Source : By JENNIFER LATSON and ANITA HASSAN, Houston Chronicle

jennifer.latson@chron.com  anita.hassan@chron.com

Jacky Tran believed he was an angel sent by God to rid his 3-year-old son of evil spirits.

As he sat behind bars Sunday night on felony child assault charges, he told tearful relatives that he had not hit the toddler, but had simply knocked the demon out of his son.

The 35-year-old father’s uncharacteristic outburst left the little boy unresponsive — his head maroon from bruising, his eyes nearly swollen shut.

“Jacky thinks he’s an angel right now: that he’s sent by God to help everybody,” said Thuba To, Tran’s cousin-in-law.

The boy, who relatives said is named Bill, was at Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital on Sunday. The boy was expected to survive. Tran, who is scheduled to appear in court Monday, remained in jail on $100,000 bail.

Sheriff’s deputies visited the Lone Dove Court home after 7 p.m. Saturday after a security alarm sounded.

When they arrived, all the windows were open and Buddhist chants were blaring from within. Through an upstairs window, Tran was seen yelling and swinging something — possibly the child — up and down, over and over, according to the police report.

No record with CPS

Deputies heard a child screaming. Inside, they found the battered, barely conscious boy in his mother’s arms.

Medics flew the boy to the hospital, where he was being treated for multiple skull fractures.

Tran’s relatives and neighbors say the devout Buddhist never showed any tendencies toward violence. The family has no record with CPS, and Tran appears to have a clean criminal record. Those closest to him believe something within him just snapped.

“He’s a very nice person, a very responsible husband, a good person,” To said. “I think he’s run into a problem with psychology.”

To and several other grief-stricken relatives stopped to visit Tran in jail on Sunday before heading to the hospital to check on Bill.

Tran asked them to take care of his wife and children while he was in jail, but said he only expected to be there a few days, To said.

Residents of Tran’s middle-class subdivision said they were stunned as they watched sheriff’s deputies arrest their neighbor over an allegation of unthinkable cruelty.

Tran, who owned a flooring and tiling company, was described as one of the friendliest people in the neighborhood. He was always ready to lend a hand, said Abdul Badat, 45, who has lived across the street from Tran for about seven years.

Within the last week, however, neighbors noticed that Tran been acting strangely. On Wednesday, Badat said he spotted Tran carrying a Buddhist statue into his house and the next day he saw the man throwing almost all his furniture into his front and back yards.

Escalating behavior

The front and back yards of the family’s house were still strewn with broken furniture Sunday.

“He threw everything out, even valuable things, because he says they’re evil,” To said.

By Friday morning, Badat decided to check on Tran, who told him that the statue he brought home earlier in the week was possessed by a demon and that he had buried it in a cemetery. He also told Badat that the furniture in the home had also been tainted.

“He thought the demon came onto everything,” Badat said.

He decided during the week to become a vegetarian, eating only fruits and vegetables for days, his cousin-in-law said.

“He’s been Buddhist for many years, but not like this,” she said.

Buddhists typically eschew worldly goods and embrace pacifism and moderation. But Tran seemed suddenly to be taking his faith to extremes, neighbors said.

On Saturday, Tran’s next-door neighbor, 35-year-old Hau Nguyen, was surprised to hear a Buddhist prayer blasting from Tran’s house. It was impossible not to hear the ruckus, including Tran’s own yelling, neighbors said.

“We heard spanking and he started saying ‘Get out,’ ‘Get out,’” said Nguyen’s 10-year-old daughter, Kristy, who was playing outside with other children in the neighborhood.

Other sibling in custody

After an alarm sounded in the Tran home, the security company called Badat, who was listed as the emergency contact, and he advised them to send law enforcement.

Badat said Saturday’s nights events were incredibly strange.

“The thing we are most worried about right now is both of the children,” he said. “That is our biggest concern.”

Child Protective Services placed Tran’s older daughter in foster care and will ask a judge for custody Monday.

No charges have been filed against his wife, but Tran faces a possible five- to 99-year sentence if convicted of felony assault.
